A flat croissant!
Ordered a ham and cheese croissant and was given a blackened pancake! It seems they put it in the sandwich press and burnt it. It was 5 mm thick! Flabergasted they even tried to serve it! Not to mention it was slamed on the table v. rudely.    [09 Sep 2004 02:18:24]

A smile could kill the staff!
In spite of the mediocre food served,chewing gum stuck under the tables and the dour faces of the "waiters", the bakehouse is a massive success due to the monopoly it has on a cafe-sparse stretch of Lyons Road.

Rude Service
Going inside that cake shop is like ordering fron the soup Nazi at Seinfeld. The older ladies at the front counter are quite rude. The younger ones follow their example unfortunately. Sugar must not be in their menu as they do not smile at all - not one bit. I do agree- they are only successful because of their monopoly of the Lyons Rd stretch. Lacking in Customer Service
I would have to agree 100% with majority of the comments here. Fortunately for the owner of the shop they have some good items, love the bread and some of the cakes. Unfortunately the majority of the ladies who work on the counter have little or no customer service skills. They forget that a sucessful business relies on good customer experiences, just imagine how much better this business can do with a change of staff. This must be a family owned business to continue to provide such poor service, there is no excuse. Bring on the competetion, there is plenty of room for it here!    [11 Nov 2007 20:21:55]
