Oh No!
We have a dreadful experience here. We booked a table on a Saturday night for about 8pm. We got to the restaurant and immediately things did not go well. First we stood in the doorway and waited to be seated. After waiting five minutes I started asking staff for help as they dashed from table to table. I either got cold shouldered or told that they would be with me 'in just a minute'. This went on for a further five minutes before I went up to the counter at the back of the restaurant and specifically asked for our table. After making several attempts to attract the attention of the staff behind the counter I finally got told I was seating in Table Five.

I then repeatedly tried to ask where Table Five was but was ignored or told 'just a minute'. This continued for about ten minutes. At which point I looked around near the door and found Table Five.

When we booked the table was described as 'near the door'. He should have said 'in the doorway', 'subject to freezing cold wind every time the door opens' and 'you need to move every time someone comes in and out of the door'. It would have to be the worst table I've ever sat at in a restaurant and it should never have been placed where it was.

We then waited for someone to come and offer us a menu, drinks or to open our wine. And waited and waited. For ten minutes we waited for someone to come and speak to us. But no matter how hard I tried to attract attention from the staff we were basically ignored. At this point we decided to leave.

Even then nobody bothered to ask why we were leaving or to find out if there was a problem. I would not recommend this restautant - service was poor, staff were rude and seating appalling. Very disappointing.    [10 Oct 2002 21:42:48]
