Lovely!
The views are lovely, and being in a gallery the views inside are good too! We had salads each (yes, they actually had more than one salad!) and they were fresh and novel. Ingredients included grilled pear, slow roasted tomatoes, roasted pine nuts and roasted almonds, rocket and roasted pumpkin. No boring lettuce and tomato slices here. They have a non wheat sweet as well and they seem happy to work around dietary complications. The service was lovely and you end up feeling like a welcome guest. Came here for Dad's birthday lunch yesterday. Service was a bit hit and miss. We had 4 different waitresses come and ask if we were ready to order but not one brought any wine glasses until we asked. We ordered the pesto and parmesan bread to start (very tasty), two roast pumpkin and feta salads with pine nuts and roma tomatoes (delicious!), a stone fruit salad and some chat potatoes with garlic and rosemary. The waitress took our order, went away and then came back to say they'd run out of the stone fruit salad so Dad had the goat's cheese tart instead (it looked great). A little after our mains were served we asked if our chat potatoes were coming. The waitress went away and came back to say the kitchen had run out of them but could cook us some more though it would take 15 minutes - by which time we'd have finished our meals. To make up for this we were offered a complimentry coffee and the head waitress came and apologised.

For dessert we had bread and butter pudding, a jumbo pancake with triple berry coulis, ice cream and cream, and a banana and date pudding with sticky toffee sauce. All were huge portions and looked great. Unfortunately my pancake was somewhat burnt, though I enjoyed it anyway as the coulis and ice cream helped to cover the burnt taste. The cream wasn't necessary, it's just too much. The banana and date pudding was lovely though the sticky toffee sauce was very sweet and there was too much of it. Overall we enjoyed ourselves and talked of coming back. I'd certainly give it another go and perhaps ask for a table on the balcony as the view is wonderful.
