Cook your oysters properly and don't use cheap cheese! I went to Blue Fish last night. I wish I hadn't. We ordered a dozen oysters mornay, a whole lobster mornay, a bottle of the house sangria and a side dish of chips. The best thing the whole night was the tartare sauce. The chips were overly oily, the salad under the lobster very average. The lobster itself was really average, which disappointed me hugely. The cheese was burnt, and strangely stringy and cheap. Quite frankly, buy some decent cheese. and get the chefs to learn how to NOT burn the cheese. I'm saving the oysters for last. They were something else. Burnt cheese on top, undercooked oysters underneath, I'm not really sure what was going on there. The oysters had black liquid pouring out of them. AND they were chewy. Thoroughly unenjoyable. I was actually really unimpressed for the whole time I was there. I felt ill, and I just wanted to go home. The sangria, well, you can get better bottled sangria for $7 instead of $19.50 at your local bottle-o. Admittedly the supervisor took the oysters off the bill because we were so dissatisfied. It doesn't make a difference though, I will never be going back. [22 May 2005 01:45:00]

Not just a cafe, ambiance , creativity , style My wife and I visited this cafe in May and had the "seafood basket " it was the best cooked and presented meal I have had in a long while. The service from the English Waitress was attentive and knowledgable , the costs not exaubident for such a well presented and tasty meal. I was in Sydney for 2 nights from SA(congratulations Sydney) James Peachey [23 Jul 2005 01:24:15]

Could hardly have done worse We booked a restricted 3 course menu for a corporate lunch on Melbourne Cup Day. It took 1 1/2 hours to serve first course! All food was well below the standard expected of any establishment in that location. Service was inadequate and unfriendly. [07 Nov 2006 17:13:04]
