Papa Gino's Try the Seafood Grinder! [05 May 2003 17:56:35]

Cheap Feed I was told that this eatery did the best pizza on Lygon. Maybe it was the reputation, but I found the pizza average. Nothing about this place is outstanding, except the price. My opinion might be the exception though, since the place is busy, especially on weekend nights. [31 Jul 2003 21:10:42]

Definitely try the ravioli! During a recent trip to Melbourne, my friend and I were searching for good yet affordable Italian food--particularly ravioli main dishes. Papa Gino's had just that--they have a large variety of pasta, including both cheese or beef varieties of ravioli. They also have an ample variety of about 8-10 different sauces that you can have with your pasta, ranging from simple cream sauces, to meat bolognese sauces, to seafood sauces, to vegetarian. If you request, they can also accomodate vegetarian needs and omit meat from the sauce if desired. The ravioli dish was of a filling size, and some of the most delicious ravioli that I have tasted since I arrived in Australia three months ago--it is definitely worth trying!
Not only is the ravioli excellent, but the service is very friendly and accomodating. The wait staff is courteous and in a good mood, and the food comes out fairly quickly. Even when my friend and I were in a rush and in need of a quick dinner before catching a bus, we were able to get in and out of Papa Gino's in less than half an hour. Definitely a place to try when you are in Melbourne! [07 Oct 2003 01:16:23]

Can you say Moo ? I love my steak and i love it really rare this is the only place that i've been to that can get it right ! and they managed to get all the blood out so it doesn't look like you went out the back and carved your own slice of cow off and to top it all of they use this cream and brandy sauce that is to die for !!!
i've been to this place at least 8 times and i've only had 1 average steak [20 Apr 2004 07:31:04]

Papa Ginos Lygon Street's restaurants are all fairly good, but this place tops it off. Some recommended dishes are the Chicken Parmigiana and the specially made lasagna. God bless Papa Gino. [04 Oct 2004 23:12:50]

I love Papa's I've been going to this restaurant since my uni days - that's nearly 10 years! The proprietors (brothers) are simply wonderful and I've yet to encounter a surly wait-staff.
The food is inexpensive and delicious - wholesome stuff just like homecooking (only better)!
And yes, no food snobs here!! [10 Jan 2006 20:28:35]
