Good Food at a Good Price The first time I came here was the day I arrived for my two week holiday in Barbados. After a nine-hour flight and a quick trip to the supermarket over the road, we went here because it was next door to our hotel; we were self-catering, and couldn't be bothered to cook since we'd been up since 1:30 am local time (it was 6 pm by this time). When we arrived, we were greeted by a large black waitress, who politely guided us to a seat on the balcony over the beach. I went for chicken and pasta, while my parents both opted for flying fish.
The portions were huge, though I may only be saying that since I was barely awake at the time and only managed half of my chicken and pasta. The waitresses were keen, and I was impressed with the service overall.
The next time we visited was during the day, when we came with friends to have a drink on the beach - there are tables actually on the beach where you can drink, mainly because the bar was slightly rowdy though this was happy hour (4pm - 6pm). However, watching the sun go down as I was drinking my way through a chilled coke and lemon was one of the most unforgettable experiences of my vacation. I strongly recommend you get here about half an hour before sunset - it's quite romantic.
The third time I came here was because another restaurant nearby was closed for the evening, and this was the nearest and cheapest alternative. This time, I went for the flying fish since I'd had it elsewhere and it tasted okay - being on the first night previously I wasn't quite ready to dive into anything strange. The dish was well-cooked, looked appealing, and best of all, tasted alright. My parents both enjoyed their dishes, and a taste of my mother's Pina Colada showed that this place can knock up a mean cocktail too. I did actually finish my dish, though I really didn't have enough room for a dessert; I guess your average American tourist has a larger stomach capacity than me.
Overall, I really would recommend this place for eating a meal, especially considering the prices of its nearby rivals, though it can be a little rowdy during happy hour. []

Watch the Sunset Cocomos is situated on the beachfront on the West Coast of Barbados and is an ideal venue if you want to see a magnificent sunset. Staff are friendly and happy hour is a must if you are in the area late afternoon. Whenever we go to Barbados we spend a good few evenings there [15 May 2002 09:30:54]

Our Holiday We arrived at 3pm and went straight on the beach. My parents had been there the year before and decided to bring me and two of my school friends back again to Cocomos. It was really fun and being three unattended 15 year old girls it was wicked. [09 Jun 2003 08:38:24]

Chilled and None Too Tourist-y! I love this place as a bar mainly - it's laid back and friendly (especially the lovely Dave!) and the locals are chatty and welcoming!
The food side is also excellent, lovely sized portions, perfectly cooked! [09 Nov 2003 11:28:38]

Excellent Restaurant We went to Cocomos three times while staying in Holetown - the food, service and location are all excellent. Sat on a table overlooking the beach, listening to the surf roll in and watching the palms sway in the wind...it is beautiful. I ate garlic prawns with rice on the first time there and they were so good I had them the following times we returned. All the staff are great, the drinks lovely and there's a nice cool breeze (in July anyway!) that flows through from the beach. Perfect. (not too pricey either!) [27 Jul 2004 11:12:03]

Brilliant I stayed above Cocomos in Sunswept Hotel. I spent many days in Cocomos and ate there at least 5 times. I was with my girlfriend and we ate with another couple and their daughter on 4 occasions. The only complaint in any meal was with a steak that I had myself which tasted a little bit fishy and I was concerned it had been cooked on the same grill as fish had so I didn't finish the steak. I had steak there other nights and it was perfect. Everyone enjoyed their meals and we found the prices pretty reasonable, especially compared with Ireland these days. We spent many nights and happy hours in the bar area and would recommend this as a must as well.
I saw Dave mentioned above and I would agree that his service was very good however some of the others in the bar were slow and sometimes rude. The service in the restaurant was good but they were in a rush to finish you which is an American trait (to turnover the tables) however it was not necessary in our case as the restaurant was never full when we ate there. All in all it's a must-do and its quite reasonable. I enjoyed my stay very very much and found Holetown to be pretty quiet but some of the older people found it to be a little less tranquil than they would have liked. [18 Aug 2004 08:15:51]

Best View On The Island! This is the best place to watch the sun go down while enjoying a sexy pina colada but it's the gorgeous Dave behind the bar that had my full attention! [11 May 2005 16:58:41]
