Great restaurant with friendly people. Uncomplicated, a bit too salty sometimes (especially the Thai soup).

When you enter De Vliegende Schotel it looks snug and cosy.
Really a restaurant where you don't have to dress in style to dine in style.

The chef really surprised us with his choice of ingredients.

How you can make someone’s taste buds tingle with such "simple" types of vegetables and fish or meat...

I cannot really give a good description of it, this food was so surprising.

In short… really worth your while to get spoilt iin a culinary way at De Vliegende Schotel!!!

echt een restaurant waar je je niet op nivo hoeft te kleden om op nivo te eten.

de kok heeft ons werkelijk verrast met met de keuzes van zijn ingredienten.

hoe je met zulke "simpele" soorten groenten en vis of vlees iemands smaak pappillen doet tintelen....

ik heb er eigenlijk goede omschrijving van, zo verrassend was dit eten.

kortom.....echt zeer de moeite waard om je bij de vliegende schotel eens lekker culinair te laten verwennen !!!

Disappointing Vliegende Schotel [Teleurstellende Vliegende Schotel]
Bad price/quality ratio. The house special (Spanish Fisherman's Stew) was very expensive, considering the quality and the quantity; 22 EUR for 1 shrimp, 1 piece of salmon, 2 bits of cod and some cockles with tomato sauce. There were no greens on the side (not even to improve the presentation).

De specialiteit van het huis (Spaans vispannetje) was erg duur gelet op de kwaliteit en de hoeveelheid; 22 EUR voor 1 garnaal, 1 stukje zalm en 2 stukjes kabeljauw en wat kokkels met tomatensaus. Have eaten several times in this cosy restaurant that smells great. Surprised every time by the unique combination of flavours. The Gambas A La Plancha are truly irresistably good. Time and again I have to force myself to order a different dish, a matter of respect for the other dishes on the menu. A really recommendable place, both in winter and in summer, when you can sit in the beautiful garden.

Don't hesitate, just go for it! But do remember to make a reservation, mind you.

[Al verschillende keren gaan eten in dit zeer gezellige heerlijk geurende restaurant. Telkens verrast door de unieke smaakcombinaties. De gamba's à la plancha zijn werkelijk onweerstaanbaar lekker. Ik moet mezelf telkens opnieuw forceren om toch een andere schotel te bestellen, kwestie van de hele kaart te respecteren. Een echte aanrader, zowel in de winter als in de zomer in de mooie tuin.
