Fantastic, grovy, intimate
Malte is a lovely restaurant, lit mainly by candles, just off the Chaussee de Charleroi. It has a short-ish but excellent menu, with classics blended with mediteranean flavours and touches. The interior is opulent, with a feel of faded belle-epoch glory, and antique oddities dotted around. The Staff are extremely friendly and efficient, and knowledgable about their menu. Good wine list with reasonable prices, and a big selection of cocktails and beers. For a treat, ask for a water-pipe to finish with coffee.

My rating reflects that this is a very rare beast of a restaurant, which gives a unique, but not classic Belgian or French experience.    [30 Mar 2005 16:31:42]
