Quick lunch We were passing through Barvaux on a day when they were having I don't know what kind of festivities, a market in the main streets and all car parks pretty full. We wanted lunch, finally found a parking spot and walked around the city centre looking for a restaurant in a more quiet area, which we found Au Petit Chef. We sat outside on the terrace in the small square, under one of the large parasols - not unimportant, because we got a rain shower in the midst of our meal.
All of us picked mussels: straight for the daughter, prepared in white wine for the wife and in garlic cream for myself. Now of course, mussels ask for a nice glass of white wine, so we got ourselves a bottle of Pouilly Fumé.
To round off we ordered coffees, a Dame Blanche for our daughter and for myself the crème brûlée.
Worth mentioning is that those who do not speak French very well can get by in Dutch here, since the woman who runs the restaurant is Flemish. [17 Feb 2005 19:01:20]
