Great Food all the time Chef Puck always creates a great meal - phone him up - tell him what you feel like eating and let him do the rest. While the wine list isn't deep you'll find it adequate. Also Puck will cater at your at your villa. All in all a fab chef. [06 Feb 2002 22:53:25]

The best restaurant on Virgin Gorda (1/03) We had just arrived on Virgin Gorda not more than 2 hours earlier when we decided to go look for something to eat. (We'd only had bagels for breakfast on the flights down.) I had read about The Flying Iguana in the Frommer's guide, so we decided to give it a try. When we drove up to the restaurant, which is situated right next to the little airport on V.G., we were a little skeptical because there were no other patrons there at the time, but we later discovered that we can never assume that on V.G. as it is so uncrowded there. We were pleasantly surprised by the best food on the island! And the most friendly chef on the island, too. Puck blends West Indian flavors with a cosmopolitan flair. Beautiful presentation and delicious food. The mahi-mahi Caesar salad sounded like an odd dish, but the fish was prepared to perfection. The key lime pie with amaretto drizzled on top was just absolutely divine. As we sat on the patio with the Trade Winds fanning us, we finally felt like we had arrived in the Caribbean. The only downside was that from that point we expected food on the same caliber from the other restaurants we visited. Usually we were left disappointed, and so during the course of our week-long stay we decided to return twice more to this wonderful little establishment. Curry shrimp, lobster Caesar, and "Duck by Puck" were some of the other dishes we tried. We were always warmly welcomed by our host Puck then well satisfied by our meals. If we ever return to the island, we will head straight to the Flying Iguana! [02 Feb 2003 01:00:25]

Is this the same Puc? My boyfriend and I dined at Flying Iguana in February 2002. We were not the only ones dining there who had the following experience.
Puck had us sit at the bar while he prepared our drinks and "got our table ready." (I got mine; my boyfriend, asking for his drink three times, never got it).
Our time at the bar was more than one hour (we wanted to sit down after 15 but Puck wouldn't let us) during which one couple finally left their dining table to try and get Puck to give them their tab.
Puck refused to give them the tab, forcing the couple to chat with him and us. The couple's male half finally said, "if you don't give us our bill now we're leaving without paying." That did the trick.
Puck told us to order our food (again, he kept us at the bar) We did. Another hour went by went by, during which Puck rambled on and on about himself. He's an interesting character, but when you're hungry a one-sided conversation gets tiring.
Finally, I walked around the bar so that I could see the kitchen better. Sure enough, there were two plates sitting there.
We told Puck we're sitting down, and please bring us our dishes. Surprise, surprise, the food was cold. My boyfriend at his dinner (it was decent) because he was starving. I sent mine back. Actually, my boyfriend picked up the plate and brought it back round to Puck because no waiters appeared at our table to see how we were doing. Another 10 minute wait (mind you, there was nobody else in the restaurant at that point).
Perhaps 2002 was not Puck's year. He did seem to be on some kind of high, and it wasn't the healthy kind. [17 Nov 2003 21:44:45]

Best in BVI ... Not sure what happened that night with the previous poster... but these guys are phenomenal. They try to get people to relax there. Perhaps he thought you were too uptight. We walked in to his place when all other places were closing and they treated us like royalty.
Everything they brought us was absolutely incredible. The only restaurant on the island worth anything. All of the others were cheap food at high prices... nothing I can't get in US suburbs. This place has authentic Carribean food with a creative touch. They brought me things that I don't normally like (beats, etc...) and even those dishes were incredible.
Breakfast was awesome too... try the french toast. [06 Sep 2005 14:28:11]
