Description

Over the years, the Inn's veranda-style restaurant has earned a reputation for serving the finest food. Bill and Cheryl Jamison of Best Places To Stay in the Caribbean found "Uncommon treats...offered with elan and excellence." Gourmet Magazine stated that at the Olde Yard Inn "Classical music and good food abound." Each night the small but select menu features varied appetizers, soups, salads, entrees, homemade desserts and a very fine wine list.

The main courses include a choice of fresh local fish, Caribbean lobster, steak, veal, chicken, lamb chops, and a sumptuous daily special. On some evenings, a local guitarist entertains, while on others, recorded classical music sets the tone.

Sunday night BBQ (1/03)
On our last night on Virgin Gorda we decided to celebrate with the OYI's Sunday night BBQ. Good food (all you can eat), friendly service, and a small band by the poolside. There was a very nice salad bar and lots of BBQ choices such as fish, chicken, steak, and ribs. Corn on the cob and baked potatoes were prepared on the grill as well. Yummy cakes were served up after you had your fill of BBQ. The carrot spice cake with cream cheese icing was divine, and the chocolate cake was dreamy. The price for the dinner was reasonable for the meal, as well. Overall, a pleasant way to end our V.G. vacation.    [02 Feb 2003 01:20:39]
