Great authentic Greek cuisine!!!
We've been visiting the Balkan for years and keep coming back for the lago stifado (stewed rabitt) and the mouth wateringly tender kalamari. The service was attentive and quick. Try the spicy feta dip it's a scorcher. I haven't been yet but I hear their Greek Nights are the funnest dinner party in town.    [12 Apr 2005 01:03:45]

We went there and the food was OK. But the whole thing was unpleasant because we were overcharged and when we pointed out the problem we were threatened with the police. That has never happened to me in my whole life and creates an unpleasant feeling about Banff. I felt threatened and wouldn't recommend the restaurant.    [03 Aug 2007 23:43:55]

we had a nice dinner at thursday 2 august with a group of people, enjoyed also the belly dancer.
but about the payment: we had to pay a dinner we did not order even after it was explained to the chief who was asked to interfer by the servant.
advice for others:

Poor reflection on Canada
Beware of being ripped off. I visited this restaurant with colleagues from around the world and had a horrible experience! They seemed to feel they could rip us off and be rude to us with impunity because we were obviously tourists. The waiter insulted my French colleague for speaking French, he yelled at me to get out of his way, and brought my Japanese colleague food he didn't order in addition to the food he did order and insisted he pay for both! The manager insisted that we pay for the extra unordered food because it was somehow our fault that they brought the wrong thing! They even threatened to call the police! We should have called the police. It should be illegal to charge people for things they didn't order. There was no way he could eat all that food. The food was OK and the supposed Greek Night floor show was about 15 minutes and nothing special.    [15 Aug 2007 15:47:39]
