Very Sad
Used to enjoy this place, but it has gone downhill badly. It was dirty, our table had mismatched place settings, the waiter/accordion player looked like he shopped at a thrift store. The lobster was not just not tasty, it had gone bad, or was freezer burnt or something.    [31 Mar 2003 18:43:25]

My Favorite Restaurant

Take the Good with the Bad
I've been to the Bavaria a couple of times. It would appear to have been a good restaurant gone bad due to lack of maintenance. There is a strange odor, the napkins are damaged, the dishes need replacing, the plastic place-mats are damaged and tacky looking and the over-all decor has been let go and not updated or maintained. The service is also slow and difficult to get. Even with all of that, I would go there again because I felt that the food and the prices are good, and tipping is neither required or earned.    [12 Oct 2004 15:24:03]

Wow, what a transformation!
I just went right after they re-opened and WOW what a difference. The food was amazing, the bar drinks were very well made and our server was great! This is the new "Keg" in Abbotsford. Gosh, what a strange place ...
We went there last Saturday and found it somehow strange to have dinner there. The food was excellent and we enjoyed it, but everything that had to do with the service was poor in every kind of aspect. After getting seated nobody asked us whether we'd like to have a drink or an aperitif for about 25 minutes. The candle on the table seems to be decoration, it never got lit. Also not on the neighbours table. The guy from the neighbouring table then stood up and got the bartender to come to his place so he could order. The service doesn't wear streamlined clothes or uniforms, they do what they want it seems in lack of professionalism regarding the restaurant business. The highlight was when the waitress came to take away the sour cream and butter we got for our steaks without asking and put it onto another table for other guests.

Loved it
We ate at the Bavaria for the first time a week ago and have since recommended it to all of our friends and family. Prices are very affordable for the amount of food and the atmosphere is so comfortable and warm...loved it. Food was excellent. Yummy for the whole family
We love our Schnitzel and the Bavaria has a very nice special Tuesday - Thursday including a beer. It's not a fancy restaurant, but you get a wholesome, good tasting meal there. Service could be better.    [28 Jun 2008 14:05:17]

All Around Great
We have been there on 4 occasions and have brought friends with us. The food was excellent, the portions are actually a bit too big, service was very friendly and food was served in a timely fashion. The Bavaria has recently been completely renovated, and resembles more a Milestones than the quaint old restaurant it used to be! The food is great though, the prices are great, and we love the little touches with every meal.
