Best Coffee in the Cariboo! Hand ground too!
Any visit to Barkerville must include a cup of coffee at the famous Wake up Jake restaurant. The story goes that the restaurant earned its name from a sleepy miner who could never stay awake!

In the days of the Gold Rush raw beans were brought up from the coast and then roasted where they were needed.

The Wake Up Jake was famous for its coffee over a hundred years ago, and it still is today!

The coffee is hand ground in the restaurant every day, and visitors can expect to see the staff of the Jake spinning the big red wheels of the grinder when the supply of grounds start to runs low!
