Description
A luxury oceanfront resort incorporating a marine pub, as well as the Arbutus Grille and Wine Bar. The setting is on the Saanich Inlet waterfront, overlooking their own 65 slip marina.
The wine bar / fine dining area and the pub are adjacent, and have much the same physical atmosphere.

GIANT RIPOFF This is a beautiful new building. There is a Pub, a Cafe, and a Restaurant. I suppose if you have more money than brains, you would be impressed with this overpriced/underachieving facility.
We went for breakfast this morning. The restaurant appears to be a decent place to eat. IT'S NOT! It is "fairly" clean and the staff are dressed well. The tables are set nicely. Let's keep this simple...$14.95 (per person) for 2 poached eggs, one dehydrated sliver of toasted french bread, a chopped up potato, all stacked and centered on your plate and surrounded by a ring of KETCHUP! YUCK!
Oh yeah.. you also get a half a glass of juice and coffee. The breakfast is described by the server as consisting of "2 poached eggs, sausage, and potato hash, with toast". Well she was close. If you can call a crouton - "toast", and if you have a real good imagination and you pretend that there is actually a piece of sausage on your plate. (there wasn't). But she was right about the eggs - we did get poached eggs.
Upon complaining, the server (who speaks in some ridiculous baby-talk voice), states "perhaps you didn't understand me..., I meant that there is sausage in the hash". Uh, excuse me, I certainly did understand you. There was NO - ZERO - NADA sausage on this plate at all... And this is a giant rip-off!
I remember when the old hotel stood on that property. The food sucked then too. Some things never change.
So my fair warning to all of you whom wish to have a decent meal at a fair price. You will not find that here at the Brentwood Bay Lodge. [05 Aug 2004 14:00:34]

don't go to this lodge, it's not worth the money and most of the staff aren't paying attention, especially management, they didn't do anything to help our concerns. [15 Mar 2005 17:22:08]
