Take out order
My wife grew up in the area and loves the local version of curry chicken. On a recent trip she wanted to stop and order some to take home. She walked up to the cash register, placed the order and was told that it would be ready in 15 minutes and so we sat at a booth nearby to wait.
After 15 min another waitress, whose section we were in, came to ask if we'd been served and we said that we'd placed an order for take-out. Then she cleaned off the breakfast plates of the previous diners.
5 minutes later my wife flagged down the waitress for our section and asked if she could check on the status of our order. She said she would and continued to offer coffee refills to all the other diners in our section, work the register as needed, and clear off plates from other booths.
10 minutes later the waitress who originally took the order noticed that we were still there and offered to go and yell at the kichen staff so we would get our order which we did 5 minutes later.
The whole time we waited there were syrup stains all over the table top of the booth we'd commandeered for the wait.

While we rate the food as excellent the poor customer service is the reason we will not go back.    [25 Jan 2005 00:59:59]

Great Food, Horrible Service.
Being an area local, I've been to the Haida-Way a number of times, and there is a definite trend. Excellent food, terrible service. Wait times are incredibly long, and often you will wait 10-15 minutes before your table is even cleared of previous diner's plates. Understaffed, or just incompetent wait staff, but the food is always worth the long long wait.    [18 Sep 2005 13:34:16]

Excellent Curry Dishes Horrible and Rude Service
While my husband was hospitalized in Victoria we would often try and stop for this excellent dish, but quite often found the service lacking. On one particular trip the waitress was incredibly rude towards us and began making comments about us to other customers. This was insulting and very rude. Her table side manners were truly lacking and her service incompetent. Still rather than accept that as customers we were paying for her service as well as the food she would rather point her finger than accept that she was not up to par. Food excellent - service lacking. As an aside, when a complaint was made to management it went nowhere!    [02 Feb 2007 19:12:07]
