Class and style This restaurant proves you can still have class and be reasonably priced. By far the best overall dining experience in Chilliwack. Excellent menu and fresh sheet. Service is exceptional. Atmosphere is romantic and comfortable. [18 Apr 2004 19:53:25]

stuffed salmon is to die for Service is excellent, especially Saturday lunches. The stuffed salmon is cheap and very very good. My five year old always wants to go there, that's a good sign. [28 Mar 2005 04:21:50]

disappointing This place is not the "fine dining" place that it presents itself to be. Basically a family restaurant that serves packaged food in a tired '80s-style atmosphere...ugh!!! [27 Jul 2005 03:59:59]

Slipping a Bit? I have dined at Dakotas since it opened some years ago. Escargots or caesar salad are included with meals, giving good value. The interior is decent, but the food has disappointed me on the last two visits. The chicken was dry, possibly pre-cooked? Hopefully, these were minor glitches. Dakotas is not fine dining. They give you a decent meal in nice surroundings for a good price. [11 Oct 2005 22:00:48]

Diamond in the Rough The first time my boyfriend and I stumbled upon this restaurant, it was only about 20 minutes until closing - but we didn't know this. They were friendly, sat us promptly, and did not rush us. In fact we didn't even know they were closed until we noticed them start to clean the surrounding areas!
The food was great. The NY steak is an absolute winner, and my beau can't get enough of the mushroom soup. The Chef's Salad is also very good.
Definitely recommend this restaurant! [05 Oct 2006 18:51:30]

Greeting the Customers We walked into Dakota's on a Sunday evening looking around to be seated. Several employees all looked at us without a simple acknowledgement. Helloooo do you want my business or not? When finally the hostess got there it was not hi how are you? It was got a reservation? No we did not so we were shoved off into the back corner. This set the tone for the whole dining experience. Sevice was slow, food was so so and the price for what we got was a rip off. [22 Oct 2006 12:59:56]

Fantastic I have been going to Dakotas for many years now. I am always impressed with the quality of the food and the excellent service. Perhaps my only complaint would be the portions are so generous that I often can not eat all the food served to me.
If you like farm sized portions with big city class and quality this is the place for you!! [02 Jan 2007 01:04:45]

New Premises Finally Open! We attended the first night in the new premises just adjacent to the existing location in the new Safeway Mall. 2 stories, open loft, lots of ceiling space, modern, open decor. The same chefs still there as the food was excellent. Service was good as always [06 Jul 2007 14:37:36]

Not What It Used To Be. We loved Dakotas in the beginning and used to go there fairly frequently for birthdays, anniversaries or any time we wanted to celebrate. In the last couple of years we have noticed the service has definitely taken a hit for the worse. The food portions have shrunk, and the quality more in line with a family restaurant but they charge more. For a better dinning experinece I would recommend Bravo's or Parallels. Both are better restraunts in my opinion. [19 Jul 2007 14:00:01]
