Last Night
Well, for starters I've been eating at Friday's for many years and the food has always been above par. Having said that, last night was the worse. My friend and I ordered lamb shanks. Our waiter explained to us that they had just found a source for the "best" lamb shanks available on Vancouver Island. He added that we were the 1st to order these wonderful lamb shanks and he would be back in a few minutes to solicit our opinion.
After we were served, the waiter came back to ask us our opinion. I told him that they were simply undercooked. Instead of the meat "falling" away from the bone, one would need a chainsaw to cut off a slice of meat. They were obviously undercooked by about an hour or two. So, back to the chef goes our waiter. Upon his return he explains to us/me that "ideally" with lamb shanks the meat should be falling off the bone and that the chef had just "missed" the mark. To this. I say he missed it by a mile. My lamb shank was returned intact to the kitchen. Our waiter returned and told us he would adjust the bill as much as he was allowed. Bottom line is he reduced the bill by a whole three/four dollars.
