Best Fish and Chips
Our family has had C-Lovers fish and chips for many years and is always the best. We always have take-out and it is best to call ahead because it gets very busy at dinner time.    [18 Apr 2003 18:20:02]

The food was good, The "ambiance" is the worst of any restaurant we've been in recently. Both the front and back doors were open on a chilly evening therefore a coat was a must. Only 1 other table was occupied, but it was noisy--all hard surfaces on walls, floors, etc. The smell from the washrooms were evident where we sat. Anyone who likes this restaurant should try the original "Cockney Kings" on Hastings    [07 May 2004 23:16:24]

Really enjoyed the fish & chips
There were big line ups at the PNE for the fish n chips ( which were superb ) so I asked which company they were and was surprised that they were right on Clarke Rd. very close to where we live. They have 'all you can eat' cod and chips on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Great food and includes a bottomless coke. Really Diappointed!
I have been going to C-Lovers in Pinetree Mall since it opened and always enjoyed the food and service in the past. Today I went and the server slapped a menu at my table. She was irritated when she reurned to take my order. My order was very large, including extra prawns. I could not get my server's attention several times when I needed lemon and when I couldn't get tartar sauce - I finally asked a nearby table for theirs. Later my bill came to $30. And they had charged me for lemon! When I asked about this, they said, "Well we are about to raise our prices." "But you haven't yet." I said. Excellent!
If you go to the restaurant I highly recommend calling ahead because as said they do get busy but also there food is excellant and I find that there is not much grease in the food from the way is is cooked    [11 Mar 2007 19:44:49]

Best In The West
We always have fish and chips on Good Friday - a family tradition. We always place our order early and pick it up. Their fish and chips have always been the best. If someone goes there for the ambiance they will be disappointed...not a fancy place but fish and chips isn't fancy either!!    [06 Apr 2007 16:35:22]

the food is good...service....not
Our large group of seniors frequented this C-Lover's location at least once a month. We basically began to feel that we were unwelcome, with the first comments being that we should call ahead to make reservations. Unfortunately we always would come on a Tuesday and C-Lovers was closed on Mondays (therefore, how do I make a reservation) I was asked to contact the waitress at her home to make a reservation (have you ever heard of this procedure before?) After we entered the restaurant we always felt as if they were doing us a favour by letting us dine at their restaurant. It really surprises us because we dropped a minimum of 160.00 each month!! The food was great and we miss it terribly, but I will not allow anybody to make my group of seniors feel unwanted or unwelcome when they are paying customers!    [18 Dec 2007 13:29:16]
