Avoid the Greek Village in Delta I had a horrible experience at this restaurant. I dined with 3 friends on an evening when the restaurant had been reserved by a few large parties. We had a reservation for 5:30 and one of our party was late, so we hadn't ordered at 5:50.
The waitress told us we'd have to order or she might have to move us later on, because our table was reserved for a large party later that evening. We explained that we wanted to stay for a few hours because we hadn't seen each other for 10 years. We asked if we should leave. The waitress said no, so we said it would be better if we moved to another table before we ordered. She moved us and said absolutely nothing about our second table having a time restriction on it.
We tried to have a leisurely dinner but it was apparent the waitress was trying to rush us. When I ordered coffee at 7:50pm, the waitress went away but the manager came to our table and said our table was reserved for another party at 8 p.m. She said that the waitress had told us this (which she had not). One of my party explained that she needed to sit and drink some coffee before it would be safe for her to drive, since we'd had wine with our dinner. The manager said she'd see what she could arrange.
Then another employee came over to us and said, "You can have your coffee by the door." She then motioned with her hands for us to stand up and said, "Come On." We decided to leave. We all put our coats on and waited in the foyer to speak with the manager because it was embarassing to speak in front of the whole restaurant of people. The manager came into the foyer and I started to explain to her what the last employee had said to us, when the same employee came into the foyer, took the manager by her arm and directed her out of the foyer (which has doors that separate the foyer from the restaurant) saying, "Don't waste your time on them."
We were left there in the foyer and didn't know what to do. Were we to slide our money under the door? Were we to go back into the restaurant and try to get the manager's attention in front of all the people in the restaurant? We left the restaurant. We talked in the parking lot about what to do.
A male employee and the manager came running out of the restaurant and the employee was yelling at us that we had to pay or he would call the police. We tried to say to him we were trying to discuss the matter witih the manager when she closed the doors on us, but he was livid and would not listen to anything we had to say. We went back and paid, but when one of our party tried to discuss a discount due to the fact that we had not been able to drink the coffee they brought us before we had been rudely asked to drink our coffee at the door, the manager got verbally abusive.
Finally the manager took the money from one of our party and said, "Get the hell out." [08 Dec 2003 04:26:01]

Excellent We were at the Greek Village on Monday, July 5, 2004. I ordered the feta cheese pie (Tiropita?). It was not what I had expected - it was better! I absolutely loved it and want to try to duplicate the recipe at home! If anyone has the recipe for this, I would appreciate having it. I live near Seattle, Washington, so I cannot get there often enough to have it frequently. The service here was good, and I loved the atmosphere - but the food is what will bring me back! I highly recommend it. [07 Jul 2004 16:52:01]

This is my favourite Restaurant I won't go anywhere else for Greek Food...there is just no comparison. This is a smallish family run restaurant. The food is wonderful, and the the prices are very reasonable. [16 Apr 2005 18:45:25]

Been Three Times. Excellent Every Time. I am a Greek food fanatic and have had the pleasure of eating Greek at a number of Lower Mainland restaurants. This is easily the best, with exemplary service and superb food. The portions are generous, tasty, and fresh, and the venue is popular, although I have been lucky to walk in and find seating for my party two out of the three times. There is plenty of parking, and the prices are modest. It has a somewhat limited cellar, so if there is something specific that you would prefer it may best to call first and bring your own if the restaurant does not stock what you're looking for. Or give them a ring a few days beforehand. I'd wager that they would go the extra mile to pick up what you'd prefer. [05 Jan 2006 23:42:41]

The best in the lower mainland The food is excelllent and comes in nice big portions! The atmosphere is friendly and the place is very nicely decorated. The manager is extremely friendly and even came out to talk to us and make sure we were having a good time. I'd recommend this place to families, couples, everybody! [25 May 2006 23:56:32]

We go there every week - at least! The food is plentiful, freshly cooked, and always delicious. The service is the friendliest we have encountered. The ambience is cosy. The prices are very reasonable. No other restaurant compares. [21 Nov 2006 17:23:41]

good food BUT I keep going to the Greek Village because of the food...I just order and pick up my food for out. The Greek Village is a family run business and I like the people there, but when they are busy, it's horrible, you don't get proper service, so avoid going Friday and Saturday nights. When making reservations, don't be late. Overall I'm no hater, I'm a eater..lol [20 Dec 2006 13:59:23]
