Disappointing We went there for the mother's day brunch - $13.99 a plate. Now, granted, as a waitress I *know* what mother's day can be like, but this was pretty bad.
We got there at about 1:30 and were surprised to see a sign in the window saying the brunch ended at 2, since the ads before then had all said 3. However, they didn't look to be packing it up, so we didn't hassle them about it.
When we got up to eat, however, I went to the breakfast table and picked up some french toast, bacon, and sausages, when I happened to tip my plate a bit and grab at the sausages to keep them from falling. The barely warm sausages. The bacon was the same. The toast was completely cold. We informed the waitress, who claimed it "must have just happened" (which is impossible, considering the lack of heat in the food), and she offered to warm up our meals for us. I didn't have time to eat elsewhere before work, but I wasn't too happy to be eating meat that'd been sitting out unheated for such a long period. And of course, microwaving the French toast did nothing to improve it. I ate what I could and went back up for some strawberries and whipped cream. The whipped cream had settled and separated and was now not even thick enough to stick to the spoon anymore. My sister reported the soup as being extremely salty, and she refused to eat the roast beef, saying it tasted 'odd'.
The decor was pretty shabby, but then it's not exactly an upscale restaurant, just a truck stop with a 'dining room' in the back - plastic tablecloths, decor that was last done in the 70s .. The fresh flowers on the tables were a nice touch, but should have been a different flower - these ones were so strongly scented they mingled with the taste of the food.
The service was decent - not spectacular, but passable. [12 May 2003 00:42:30]

The service was horrible, the waitress was not small but not big, she was wearing a tacky shirt that said something like "I'm a princess" and was way too short on her, every time she bent over you could see her huge tatoo on the small of her back and her future being a plumber. We got our food finally, and she forgot some stuff and we didn't get our drinks that came with the meal until just before we left. She never came back to the table, and after we left we had to come back because she had charged us too much. I work in a restaurant and know what should be acceptable, this was below acceptable. In fact one time one of us was there a waitress dropped a whole bowl of curry and didn't clean it up for 45 mins!
The food that we have gotten in the past is always late and tasteless. And this isn't just one time, since I happen to live in the area I have been there on more than one occasion, and I have been frustrated every time. The atmosphere is bad and tacky. I do not recommend this "diner" at all! [21 Jul 2004 23:08:20]

Great Place To Eat. Our car club has used the back dining room for our get together and a brunch. There were over thirty of us there and I never heard one complaint. Yes, it took some time to get another cup of java, but what the heck, we were there to socialize as well as eat. This is a great place for a small club to meet and eat. All our meals were super large and very tasty. The staff all appear very friendly and as one of the above people stated, they may have been dressed a little less formal that "they" thought they should be. It was, and still is a truck stop. What do you expect a long dress. [20 Jan 2005 18:42:28]

I Often Dream of Gerry's I'll admit it - I've only been to Gerry's once, in late 2005. We live out of town and only drive through Duncan infrequently. However, we were accompanied by a friend who had recently eaten breakfast there with his somewhat picky family, and they were all impressed by the large portions, reasonable prices, and tasty food. Based on my limited experience, I'd agree. We ate dinner there late one night, and you can't go wrong with the basic diner fare: burgers, fries, rings, beef dips, etc. Very good prices and very good diner food. And huge portions. I can't believe I wasn't able to finish those excellent onion rings - they were so good - but there were so many.
There was a salad bar there, which we didn't try, but we saw the cook come out and measure the temperature of the salad trays. I might try it next time - it seemed well-priced - but when I go back (and I hope it's soon), I'll probably stick with one of the basic diner dishes that Gerry's does as well as any diner or family style restaurant I've ever been to. It'll be difficult to turn down an all-day breakfast - my friend's looked excellent. [01 Jan 2006 18:06:49]

Gerry's Is Great! I don't understand the one negative review above - why would you and your friends keep returning to Gerry's if you think it's so bad? As for me - I think Gerry's is great! Simply put: if you're looking for delicious, well-priced diner-style food, you can't go wrong with this restaurant. Everything we've had is good. And we've had no complaints over the service. You get your food delivered quickly to your table. I don't know if I'd go to a Mother's Day brunch there, but for a weekend breakfast, lunch, or dinner - it's always satisfying!!! You Can't Go Wrong With Gerry's! I'll make it short and sweet. As long as there's a Gerry's Diner in town, I won't bother with White Spot or The Doghouse. Gerry's is excellent family-restaurant-style food! [31 Aug 2006 15:43:14]
