Excellent
Tried Home Restaurant in Hope on our way home from camping in Manning Park. Waited in a 20 mins line-up on a Sunday night after the guy in front of us said it was well worth the wait.

It was -- I had the Monte Cristo sandwich which was so packed with ham and turkey that I could barely get my mouth around it. Being a connoisseur of Monte Cristo this one rated right up there. The homemade fries with turkey/beef gravy were excellent. My husband had the baked spaghetti which was awesome.

The milkshakes were the best we'd ever had -- thick and yummy. The prices were inexpensive and the waitstaff very courteous and efficient. My only complaints were that they needed a better waiting system than a lineup at the cash going out the door and they could really update the place and add a patio -- the weather is too beautiful not to incorporate the outdoors.    [11 Aug 2003 20:10:23]

Excellent
I love Home restaurant, I've been going there for many years. I go through Hope twice a year, and never fail to stop there for something, even if it's just a hot chocolate and piece of pie. As already mentioned, their food is great, the prices are cheap, and it is well worth the wait if you get there when there's a line.    [20 Mar 2005 23:34:35]

Fabulous Place to Eat!
Thank goodness that the CAA book told us this was so good because we never would have stopped here! The beef dip sandwich and the club house were enourmous and delicious. We stopped after lunch (about 1:30) so had no wait and yet the service was still great.    [28 Mar 2005 12:36:44]

Amazing
Ever since I was a little girl, our family ate at this resautrant. We are from Vancouver and we used to go camping every summer in Westbank. We ate there on the way there and back. I am now 24 and everytime I go near the Okanagan I make sure to stop and have some baked spaghetti and one of there awesome milkshakes!    [20 Apr 2005 18:32:23]

Disappointed Customer
As a long time customer of this restaurant, I was very disappointed at the service we received there today. My daughter, 2 granddaughters and myself arrived at approximately 12:20PM. Being the lunch hour we expected a wait, but were seated really quite quickly (within 10 minutes). Our orders were taken in short order, but there was an extensive delay in delivery on those orders. Our waitress seemed much more concerned with informing other customers paying at the till "how lucky they were to have a "TIP" option on the debit machine than in bringing us our food. A couple that were seated just previous to us got their meals, ate them, paid and left, new customers were seated and were giving their orders before we received our food, which I sent back because mine was cold. My granddaughters both ordered from the kids menu but never did receive their dessert. It is amazing to me how one person can ruin an otherwise pleasant experience. Horrible and Rude Services
I went with my family for years to this restaurant on trips from PG to Vancouver, the food was plain but reasonable and good. Perfect on the road food. I have gone out of my way twice to stop at this restaurant lately and been very disappointed. The latest tonight when I assured my boyfriend that it was worth pulling off our rout for. We waited forever to be seated, were looked at by the waitress several times but not acknowledged. We sat ourselves. This apparently royally pissed the waitress off as she would not acknowledge or serve us. She did be sure to give us a nasty look. We had to leave. The cashier (who looked like the manager) said "oh just couldn't wait to be seated huh?" and said she was about to come over and in a very phony tone said "that's too bad" as we were walking out and then chuckled with incoming patrons as she led them to their table.

I will be sure to recommend to my family and friends to keeping on driving on the next road trip.    [10 Oct 2007 00:08:17]
