This place was a hole; the decor was sooo outdated. Everyone in the place were hicks trapped in the 80s.    [15 Sep 2004 23:04:22]

Best Date of my Life
I called ahead and told them I was surprising my wife with a date. We drove 2.5 hours to get there and every twist and turn was worth it. They had rose petals on our table and the food was spectacular! My wife had the seafood soup and said she'd hadn't tasted anything as exquiste since Europe. After 10 years of marriage my wife and I both agree it was the best date we've ever had, and it was thanks to everyone at the Rosewood. We are recommending all our friends.    [14 Nov 2004 21:23:19]

Don't miss this one!
Rosewood Cafe was a great little stop on our loop from Nelson back to Nelson. We happened upon their Maydays for the long weekend and enjoyed the festivities. Started to rain so we ducked into the Rosewood cafe, a nice old home with character of the past. Not originally situated where it stands now but I'm sure it will be for many more years to come! Excellent food and the poppyseed dressing for my salad was absolutely out of this world! As a Travel Agent from Alberta I will definitely recommend this to all travellers going your way!! Thank you and continued success to you!!    [24 May 2005 19:12:21]

Absolutely Perfect
One of the few resturaunts my entire family agrees on and whenever we're in the area we have to go.

I have been impressed with everything there (this from a normally picky eater). The food is fresh year round and has a wide variety to fit everyones taste (I was impressed that they made their own salad dressings). A cozy atmosphere, perfect date place in a beautiful small town. A must if your in the area!    [18 Oct 2005 01:35:35]

Five Stars
We've travelled a great deal and appreciate good food and good atmosphere. The Rosewood rates high on our list. We've been back several times and have yet to be disappointed. The staff are always friendly, never overly attentive and the food rivals any cruise menu we've had. We give the Rosewood 5 Stars!    [19 Dec 2005 22:48:20]

What a Find! A Hidden Treasure!
My husband and I were on a motorcycle tour around the Selkirk Loop and the Rosewood in Kaslo was highly recommened by the tour organizers.
WOW!!! What a wonderful surprise. A quaint pink house at the end of the main street. The inside is simply crammed with the most amazing antiques, and collectibles, you could look for hours.
We ended up staying for dinner as my husband spotted prime rib on the menu and couldn't pass it up. The food was amazing!!! I can't say enough about it. We had the most wonderful waitress, who had us laughing most of the meal. I put myself through University working in a restaurant, and I can only say, " I wish I could have worked in a place like this then."
If you are in Kaslo, you simply have to eat at this cute place, I know we will every time we are in Kaslo.
Thanks Rosewood, for being a hidden gem in the Kootenays.    [07 Jan 2006 16:12:43]

pretentious but passable
The food was very slow to arrive and was extremely overpriced for what it was...we felt we should give it a try but we won't eat there again as there is much better food down the street.    [13 May 2007 05:30:37]
