What's going on here !?
The first time I went to the Birch Grill I LOVEEEEDDD it. I had a bocconcini cheese and tomato salad to start and for dinner had lobster ravioli. So, so good. However, the 2nd time wasn't as nice. I had the same thing (original, hey?) but something was lacking. The salad was alright but the pasta was... cold. Not only was it not hot but it needed about 1/2 a lb of salt in it. I was embarassed, I couldn't keep the shaker down. I don't remember having to add any taste to it the 1st time. I was overall disappointed. Seeing as how I loved it the 1st time though, maybe this was just an off night, everyone has them. I'll give it another chance. The one consistency they do have is excellent service. Our waiter Joe was one of the best servers I've ever had at any restaurant in any city anywhere. No question about that.    [04 Sep 2004 16:17:45]
