Lacks lustre Ate here for Valentine's 2005. The food was average, the waiter was too flamboyant, and the atmosphere was loud. The bill was ~$100. I don't mind paying good money for a good meal, but I left feeling like I had overpayed, by about $60. [02 May 2005 01:30:39]

Earl's is great Earl's always has a great menu. It overlooks the water downtown by the sails. The foods good. Service is always friendly but gets a little slow when it's busy on the weekends. Comfortable atmosphere. [03 May 2005 14:56:20]

uh oh Been here twice now and both times not too impressed. Although I am comparing it to the Earl's in Banff which was always top notch! First time the portions seemed less than in Banff - being a chain surely consistency would prevail? Wine glass servings different as well - but knowing BC liquor laws who knows. Second time our server was definitely the entertainment of the day. Being all from the F&B industry we found her approach "different" bordering on abusive/too familiar. Being asked to pass someone's drinks/plates around the table is not my idea of service (when she could have done it herslf with a bit of thought) Food was good though - only had lunch. Service very slow and restaurant not that busy - had to wait long time for drinks and no teapots available for tea. Notes to management - don't rely on the view. I am always "wowed" by the cheap prices and variation on their wine lists. [25 Sep 2005 12:52:40]
