Best Food Ever, Strange Atmosphere
We tried the new My Martini Place in downtown Kelowna last Friday night. Very classy decor, and friendly staff, however, we were a bit concerned about the level of energy in the room(s). Very quiet music, too quiet! The selection was early jazz which didn't really fit. Service was friendly but very disorganized. The food however was to die for! Great Food but Overall a Disappointment
While visiting Kelowna in early August, we tried out My Martini Place restaurant.

At first glance this was a very classy establishment. Unfortunately the service was extremely slow and disorganized and the owner hovered over us and then invited himself to sit down, not exactly what we were looking for in a romantic evening. It was when he answered a cellphone call at our table that we were just downright appalled.

The ambiance was almost nonexistent. A very bad jazz duo played cheesy lounge music in a back room. The initial horror, as it turned out, was worth it. We have never had better food in the Okanagan. The servers were friendly and they had a good list of wines and martinis.

We would like to return for the food, unfortunately we doubt we will, due to the unprofessional, and shocking behaviour of the owner/manager.    [24 Aug 2004 19:16:41]

Outstanding
A friend and I tried the new My martini Place Restaurant on the 4th. We were extremely impressed. The service was great, it was full and exciting, and the food was absolutely the best we've had in Kelowna ever. It's great to see restaurants in Kelowna are veering towards quality instead of quantity. Although there were no problems with our portion sizes either. Disappointment
Booked this venue for a Xmas party of about 50 people. When we arrived we were told that they didn't think they could offer us the price that was agreed to well in advance. Also, they put all of us in one room except for one table which they put in a room on the other side of the restaurant. That was ridiculous. Some of the food was cold. No Christmas ambience. Service was ok when one waiter was asked why his steak was smaller than all the others... his response "Because it is... it's how they are".
