Bad Manager In the last month, every non ice cream order from this store on 8 has been wrong. Easy stuff like forgetting to put gravy in the chix basket or condiment on the footlong or in the bag. I can get chix strips all over town without gravy. The gravy is why we go to DQ and not somewhere else. We all have ketchup and mustard at home. We don't have chopped onions ready to go. That's why we go to DQ for a hot dog. We specifically ask for these things, the girl writes it down but it NEVER happens.
I called the manager and he told me there was nothing he could do and sarcastically asked me if I expected him to personally check every bag that leaves the store. He then told me it was my responsibility to pull the boxes out of the bags, open each box and inspect it for errors. In the Drive-Thru?! He then asked me what he was supposed to do with all these teenagers working for him. I don't think he is very good at hiring, firing, customer service or managing any of the services.
We will never order food from this restaurant again as long as the current staffing problem exists. This is a big disappointment because we really love the flavor of their food when it's done right. My family ate there twice a week every week. I'm sure that's just a drop in the bucket compared to your total volume. After all, there really isn't anywhere else to go for ice cream, is there. Horrible Customer Service First of all, I have never had such horrible customer service in my life. We went there for DQ treats, pulled up to drive through, the gentleman said he would be right with us, ten minutes later I pulled ahead to the window after yelling into the speaker. The girl at the window proceeded to take other people's orders instead of mine. Then I told her how long I had been waiting. She took our order and I asked if there was a credit or coupon or something she could give us for us having waited so long. Then she over charged us and had to give us a refund. Then I asked for lids on the blizzards and she tried to hand them to me without lids. Then I asked again about coupons or a credit. She had the nerve to look at me and say "can't you just go home and phone and get mad".... ummm hello, no so I asked to see the manager and she then said "well can you go in then because I have lots of orders behind you". So I went inside to see a big line up, then I decided no I am not waiting so that our dessert can melt. So I went home and phoned and had the pleasure of talking to a manager that was not at all helpful. He said he would talk to the staff but in this case if we just pulled ahead to the window the staff would assume we just missed the speaker. You think maybe they should ask us before going on to the next customer. Then I asked the manager about a credit or something and he said well we don't do that but I will talk to my staff. Screw this, I won't being going there again. Shame on the service at the Ladysmith Dairy Queen. [18 Apr 2007 22:59:05]

Drive thru My Husband and I were on our way through town and heading out camping from Nanaimo to Lake Cowichan on the weekend and we were in a hurry to meet some of our friends on the road. We were on a tight schedule and we figured we would go through the Dairy Queen drive thru thinking it would be quick, hence the name "Drive Thru Fast Food" Well, it took forever to get our meal in the drive thru. When we finally did get it, the fries were cold, but we were pulling a trailer behind us so we could not turn around. Also we were late to meet our family and friends on route to camping. We use fast food drive thru's to get fast service. Anyways we will probably stop somewhere else beside DQ in Ladysmith for this reason. [13 Aug 2007 17:22:25]
