order today... you may get your food next year
You know how a dog ages every seven years for one human year? Well it seems the powerhouse pub has such a wacked sense of time too.

It's not a bad place. But when you're waiting one hour for a fairly simple meal, it loses its lustre pretty quick.    [29 Jun 2003 17:30:45]

What AN Awesome Place
I believe The Old PowerHouse Pub is a remarkable place and the owner was exceptionally Nice. He went out of his way to make me and my family feel at home. I believe his name was Kevin Thanks to him and the server also it was great.    [04 Feb 2004 18:53:22]

Bad Service has become the norm
We attended the pub two nights in Feb 2004 while sledding. They were out of 75% of their menu both nights. They even ran out of hamburgers. Attendance the night we attended according to the waitress was low. Her only reasoning was that the owner would not buy enough food. We had the oportunity to speak to him, in my opinion he could of cared less about our group (we had 16 people)

SORRY, BUT WE'RE OUT OF THAT TOO.....
You know you're in trouble when you try to order 4 items(burgers, nachos, fish & chips, and pasta) on the menu, and they tell you they're sold out. And when you finally find something on the menu that they do have, it takes over an hour to receive the order........ you know you're in trouble.

It has great ambience, nice decor, cozy & warm, but "management" is to blame, according to our waitress, for the menu problems..... It has been twice(2003 & 2004) that this type of service has occured while we were on "sledding" trips to McBride. I know they would be a lot busier if they could rectify these problems. It's too bad, but many sledders are of the same opinion....... sorry Powerhouse(love the place, but hate the service)    [09 Mar 2004 09:49:18]
