Wow what a Gem

Good pub grub in a beautiful setting
We met some new friends on a boat tour out of Ladysmith Marina and they led us to The Crow & Gate. What a treat. The gardens and mountain scenery provide a lovely setting for generous and delicious pub meals served on picnic tables. We tried crab cakes and oysters - something different for those of us from Ottawa - and they were yummy. The inside of the pub was very cosy looking. Too bad we live so far away. Great Place to Eat

Long Time Tradition
I have lived in Cedar for over 20 years and this is my favorite resteraunt/pub for great food! The ambiance, staff and surroundings are fabulous. They also take debit card and credit card.    [28 Mar 2006 11:25:26]

The Food!
We have visited The Crow and Gate on each visit to Vancouver Island (two in the past year alone!) We cannot get enough of this place! The crab cakes! The roast beef and Yorkshire Pudding! The Shepherd's Pie and Bread Pudding to die for! And the blueberry & peach pie had the absolute most wonderful and unique pastry! I've tried so hard to duplicate it, but just cannot. The atmosphere is really quaint, a cross between Coronation Street and Braveheart! Absolutely worth the trip!

Love this place
