2 bad experiences We have now had 2 bad dining experiences at this Boston Pizza.
1) We went to the Tuesday Pasta Night where I ordered the Baked Shrimp and Feta Penne. I am allergic to green onions, so I asked for them to hold them and specifically stated that I am allergic (most restaurants have an option in their computers that puts an alert for allergies). When our food arrived, my pasta was chock full of green onion!! I complained to the waitress and she apologized, though she did claim that I had not mentioned my allergy (yeah, like I would forget mentioning this!!). She took my meal away, and I sat and watched my spouse enjoy his meal. My replacement pasta took in excess of 20 minutes to arrive, at which time my husband had already finished his meal. When I dug into my pasta, I found NO SHRIMP!! Once again, spoke to the waitress who did not charge me for my meal and included a free dessert for our troubles.
2) We went to Boston Pizza on a Wednesday evening (not a specialty night). The hostess was too busy on a personal call to seat either the couple ahead of us or ourselves. Finally, another waitress came and sat us. We ordered pasta for dinner: my husband had the tortellini with meat sauce, meatballs and baked with cheese, and I ordered the chicken and mushroom fetuccini, also baked. The restaurant had very few people in it, and, for the most part, they were either already eating their meals or had finished up when we were seated. We ended up waiting nearly 30 minutes for our two bowls of pasta to arrive!! When our meals arrived, I took a forkful of pasta and found no chicken. Upon further inspection, I was able to pull out 5 small pieces. There were only a few shavings of mushroom in it, as well. We called over our waitress to complain, and she took away the plate and sent for the manager. We had to wait nearly 10 MINUTES for someone to come over (meanwhile, my husband's food was getting cold and I was just plain hungry!). When the "manager" came (he was just a server that had a supervisor tag on), my husband told him what the problem was. The supervisor tried to talk his way out of the predicament, everything from the fact that the kitchen was backed up, to the fact that they had always prepared their meals in this manner. Unfortunately for him, my husband actually worked as the pasta bar cook for Boston Pizza for 8+ years. Eventually, I had a new meal prepared for me, but by the time it arrived, once again, my husband had finished his meal. The irony of this particular tale is that we were meeting a couple at the theatres in Coquitlam and thought that it would save us time eating at this location as opposed to fighting the traffic to get to the one on Lougheed!! Bottom line, my meal was taken care of, yet the whole point of going out for dinner with someone is to actually have dinner at the same time!! I would not return to this particular location of Boston Pizza for a long time. Other locations are great, just avoid this one!! [07 Jun 2004 14:03:10]
