Left the Ridge Gagging and hungry
First arriving in the family restaurant part of the Ridge I saw it would be perfect for our larger group of 8 - there was plenty of room. The server told us the special was roast beef, mashed potatoes, vegetables, gravy and yorkshire pudding. 4 of us ordered that. She later came back to say they were out of mashed and was roasted ok. Everyone agreed. When our meals finally came after what seemed a ridiculous wait for a pub, it was dissapointing. There was no yorkshire pudding and it came with fries, not roasted potatoes. My plate was beef dip and caesar salad. Two others also ordered dishes that came with caesar salad. The salad leaves were nearly clear from being soaked in dressing for so long. The salad was soggy and disgusting. The jus for the beef dip was unbearably salty and flavourless. My sister had an apricot glazed chicken breast, which tasted sour and dry. Mom's ribs were fatty. After finally being able to flag down the waitress, who I think was already embarrassed enough due to our complaints about her lack of knowledge and communication about the roast beef dinner, I complained about how terrible my salad was that I only took one bite of. The salad was not taken off any of our bills. By the way, even the fries tasted like they were fried in year-old oil and tasted revolting. Pass on this one! Terrible!    [05 May 2004 14:53:22]

Two sides to every story.
I am a faithful regular of the Ridge Brewing Co. for several years. I happened to be there on the night in question that Ms. Clements "left gagging & hungry". I remember it vivdly because I too had the Roast Beef Special and because I had the opportunity to speak to the server and the Manager that handled this irate, frustrated, impossible, and downright rude customer. She ruined my experience with her incessant whining.

I thanked the service staff for a job well done under difficult circumstances. I shall return again and again as I am hard pressed to find a Pub that offers such great value for the dollar. The Roast Beef Dinner Special is $8.95! For sit down service! With liquor service! Let's see you get that @ McDonald's.

The Ridge...I'm Lovin' it.
P.S. Great Micro Brews too.

Great Dinner Specials
Awesome. Stayed there for three nights on a golfing trip. Had the Ribs & Caesar on Tuesday $7.95?, Roast Beef on Wednesday $8.95, and Jambalaya on Thurs. (forget price). Home brews were deeelish. Got to watch some playoff hockey on the Big Screen with the volume on throughout the Pub. Very Cool. Fun staff. Lively atmosphere. Will return.    [01 Jun 2004 12:43:31]

Greatest Place to Dine
Absolutely the best dinner and service I have seen yet...I was recently visiting in Osoyoos with my children and after a warm day in the sun we decided to head to the Ridge for dinner.

I had some unhappy kids on my hands but the waitress took such good care of myself and my kids that they always want to go back every time we're through town...

The staff always have smiles on their face and make you feel so welcome..I definitely recomend going to the Ridge you'll have such a great experience and enjoy it so much you'll continue going back as much as we do..    [02 Jun 2004 02:49:53]

My new favorite place to dine
We've been coming to Osoyoos over the last couple months and we've found an absolute gem. The Ridge has it all - the servers were friendly, knowledgeable and prompt always there to tend to our needs and the needs of those in our parties. The food was fantastic and the honey ale is a new favorite of mine. I tell everyone I know to go there and I hope everyone that reads this will go there too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!    [09 Jun 2004 04:20:26]

Not Good
We were there last night, and it was a pretty bad experience. Unlike the first reviewers we did not complain, but after dinner we were asked how the food was and we said, quietly, not great. To be honest a Friday night on a long weekend may have been the problem, but management should have seen this coming.

The beer was wonderful. We had the beer sampler which was delightful, then we got our dinners. My wife and friend had the fish and chips which was almost inedible. The batter was hard and the fish was dry. My wife said the chips were hard, and they looked like they had been cooked twice. Lemon wedges on their plates had been squeezed before. The fish and chips were stone cold as well. My friend's wife and I had the Thai Prawn Salad. The salad was passable, but the prawns were like rubber and had to be forced off of the skewer, and I mean forced! Obviously had been pre-prepared and been on the skewer a long time. Our garlic toast was stone cold.

It was a very busy night, so the service left a lot to be desired. We were going to stay for another drink and dessert, but by the time the waitress got to us we decided to go somewhere else.

We drove over an hour to this place just to try it, after hearing raves. We will try it again when it is not so busy, but won't be going out of our way. And we won't be raving!    [04 Sep 2004 11:36:19]

Amazing
I just wanted the Ridge staff to know that I enjoy all my times there so very much. My husband and I are older and don't get to go out all that much but when we do we sure enjoy it. The service is outstanding. We usually get the same girl every time and she always greets us with a smile and knows us by name.

My husband is very hard of hearing so it takes a lot of patience but our server goes through everything throughly and is just so patient and what a dear she is. We like the quiet area so we usually sit in the family dining room, and usually go on Friday's for the chefs creation.

Great prices for older people like us. I just wanted to thank my server so much and to let everyone around know to go there and try the experience so they can enjoy it as much as we do.    [13 Sep 2004 03:45:24]

good changes
I've seen great changes at the Ridge over the last few months, I think the service is fantastic as well as the food. The waitresses always go the extra mile and make me feel welcomed. Keep up the good work!!!    [10 Jun 2005 03:44:27]

Used to be good.....
Just like some of the previous reviews I used to love going to the Ridge Pub. Lately, However, I noticed a steady decline in the quality of food being served. Then last time I had to send a burger back as it tasted like charcoal. I'm not sure of the regularity of the grill cleaning program but the burger I got in return was not cooked as much but still tasted like coal. On the bright side the beer is still good and the server was very nice.    [05 Feb 2007 15:33:00]
