terrible service, mediocre food We have tried this restaurant twice now. The first time was when they first opened in october. The food was some of the best we ever had. Unfortunately on our recent return, we were disappointed to find the quality of food has decreased incredibly. Overcooked chateaubriand that was around $100. The service was pretentious and sloowwwwww. We missed our movie, with no apologies. Our appetizers were ice cold as well. Not a great experience. [26 Feb 2005 14:53:33]

Always Great for Us!!! The previous customer must have hit the restaurant on a bad night. We have been going there since they opened and absolutely love the place.
Food is consistently great, portions large and well presented. We have never experienced a restaurant that gives such great food for the money. Most items are $10 to $15 on the dinner menu and you would pay double that at the Keg or comparable chain and the quality wouldn't be there. The ambiance is probably the best in the Okanagan. Decor is extremely comfortable yet elegant. Service is personable, they always know your name or at least pretend to. We never go anywhere else now because there is always something new to experience. We love the joint. [31 Jan 2006 20:23:59]

Best Food I Have Ever Tasted This has to be the restaurant that serves the best food. True, it is busy but the decor is lovely and the food is fabulous!
I have no idea why the one customer states that they paid over $100 as that is impossible. The food is reasonable and very affordable. [25 Jan 2007 18:16:19]

The best in town We just had our first "Front St. Bar and Bistro" experience and we left saying "wow"! The food and service were excellent, the flavours were amazing and the wine delicious. Staff was also excellent, a must try if you're in the Penticton area, it's worth the $$ [12 Feb 2007 18:06:13]

Best Restaurant/Restauratuer in the Okanagan This restaurant has always been a favourite of mine. I just heard through the grapevine that they had just received (for the 2nd year running) Peachfest awards for best peach dessert and best peach drink. And this is no surprise, if you remember the 1912 Restaurant in Kaleden, where the owner/operator Allan Dell (who now operates The Front Street Bar & Bistro) was consistently winning WineFest awards, PeachFest awards and was in the Where To Eat In Canada guide 9 years in a row. Allan Dell was the first one to have an all B.C. wine list, he even opened his house (above the restaurant) as a Country Inn. This man is on fire! [08 Aug 2007 21:03:23]

A must see This place not only has the best deck in town, they have the nicest interior of any restaurant I have been to in the Okanagan. Then let's get to the food. No french fries in this joint. All the food is made there and you can appreciate the difference. My steak was to die for and my partner had Manitoba Pickerel. Where else can you get those two meals for under fifty bucks? They also have about 200 Okanagan wines on the list. I don't know who owns the place or who the chef is... but kudos to them. The place is a winner! We love it and don't go anywhere else. And we drive from Peachland once a week too! (Kelowna is closer but doesn't have anything close to the quality and ambiance.) [22 Aug 2007 23:51:29]

Wow! The place is amazing. Takes me back to a time (before restaurant chains) when a night out was filled with great flavours and impeccable service. The steaks are melt in your mouth and the wine list is all Okanagan. It takes balls to run a place like that-- congratulations to the owner and chef. And where did they get the music? I heard songs that brought back lots of memories. Visit this place, you won't regret it! [05 Sep 2007 09:02:23]

Disgusting We were visiting from Vancouver and our relatives suggesting going there because it was close. We were very disappointed. The quality was very low and the prices were too high. The waitress told us that the appetizer platter would be a lot of food and when it arrived, we found that it was tiny. The bruschetta was cold and soggy and the prawns hadn't been cleaned properly. Someone in our party ordered a burger and the bun was cold and stale. It was obvious it had come straight out of the fridge. The coffee was horrible and the potato salad was as well. By the end of the meal, half of us had spit out our food into our napkins at least once. The only thing we didn't mind was the nachos and you can't really screw that up. Our meal was also over $100. Worst Food Ever Food was overpriced. We ordered the appetizer platter. They didn't remove the digestive tract from the prawns. There was fake crab in the mushroom caps(no mention of the fake crab in the menu). The baked brie was good, but way too small(think 1 inch cubed).
The 'homemade' burgers are 1/3 onion(and no mention of the onion in the menu). They put a huge stone in the soup to 'keep it warm', but is really so they don't have to give as much soup per bowl. The potato salad was awful, watery, mushy, and bland. [29 Nov 2007 04:27:17]
