stupendous! While visiting the South Okanagan last August, friends took us to Chef K's in Penticton. An inauspicious location was soon forgotten, as my wife and I enjoyed one of the finest meals we have ever eaten - ANYWHERE! Chef K is a master with thirty years experience worldwide, including several five star restaurants. Lucky for Penticton, that he decided to plant roots and open his own family business. We were flabergasted by the extensive menue. The food was to die for!! I had the Texas barbeque beef brisket (hard to get in B.C.)and it was the best I have ever had. Desert was an award winning work of art! Make no mistake this is an extraordinarilly great dining place. I would rate Chef K's in my all-time top five world wide - and there it sits like a jewel in Penticton. Great service, friendly visits by the K himself, good music. Wow - believe me, I will be heading to Chef K's anytime I get anywhere near Penticton. First rate all the way!I work part time for a travel review dot com firm, and am about to give Chef K's the highest rating review I have written in five years. [30 Nov 2005 12:41:45]

Now the Saigon Don't know what happened to Chef K -- guess we didn't deserve him. The Saigon has taken over his space and it's not bad but not good either. "Canadianized" Vietnamese food with little flavor but better than your average Chinese food place in Penticton.
When will Asian restaurant owners face the fact that people do travel and some of us actually like Asian food? Maybe we need dual menus -- ersatz food on one side and real food on the other.
As well, the server was overwhelmed by too many customers (lunch hour). I felt sorry for her but it took forever to get my Vietnames hot sauce. [09 Sep 2006 17:38:53]
