Great Restaurant
It is very good, I loved it, one of my favorite places in PG. The food is very good, the service is a little slow but worth it, the ambiance is just perfect, everything is fantastic.    [25 Nov 2004 18:29:15]

great atmosphere
Since the renovation, the noise levels have decreased greatly. The new decor is phenomenal, with a much more intimate experience. The number of booths has been increased and the "bar" seating area is as pleasant as the restaurant.

The menu contains the usual "Canadian" fare, with some twists. The Italian-style pizza (*very* thin crust) is a pleasure every time.

The service is usually pretty good -- slow is relative, I guess, but I never had an empty glass and we weren't waiting long for our meals.

The prices have climbed steadily over the past few years, and I'm afraid the value doesn't seem to be there as much as it used to. I guess they have to pay for the reno's somehow!

Overall, an excellent dining experience -- they always seem to be consistent there!    [29 Jan 2005 03:11:42]

Boringly Familiar
Nice people, nice enough food but so "cookie-cutter" right down to the palsy mannerisms of the servers.

When in Prince George, my advice is go experience something more local not a clone of what you get in Victoria or Vancouver.    [19 May 2005 20:28:32]

Where's the cheese???
I am old enough now that I expect good service, and good food for the money I pay - ambience and 'trendy' is no longer enough by itself. Earl's has come a long way from the 'parrot' days, thank goodness, but the food needs help. I ordered the Roasted beet and spinach salad with goat cheese & figs, with an addition of chicken. I received a bowl of spinach, sprinked with chicken (not short changed there), and lots of dressing. I love goat cheese, and although I didn't expect huge quantities since it was only an addition to the salad, I did expect more than 3 little pieces that I hunted high and low for, and which amounted to 1/2 tsp. of cheese. Never did find the figs. If the salad hadn't cost $15, I could have laughed, but, when I asked the server, I was told that that was all that ever was served with this salad. May as well have omitted it from the menu. Obviously, Earls doesn't want to spend much money on the ingredients, and I expect everything is measured out exactly in every case. I won't be back. Give me Cimo's any day. Good, prompt, service and great food always.    [22 Mar 2008 19:02:52]
