What were they thinking? Had the pleasure of dining there a couple of years ago and the food and atmosphere were wonderful. Since renovating and leasing the premises, all I can say is TOO BAD! [20 Oct 2006 23:57:26]

Great changes! Food, service and atmosphere are all second to none. There's a great buzz about the place since the changes. [28 Oct 2006 22:46:15]

Coolest pub I've ever been to! I've travelled many a place and sipped many a brew. And I'd have to admit that the 17 Mile Pub is one of the coolest places I've been. The atmosphere is so welcoming. [07 Nov 2006 19:23:21]

Doing well My wife and I decided to stop in on the way home on a Friday at 6 PM. We hadn't visited since Mar 06 and decided to see if they've improved since then. We were pleasantly surprised. Although very busy (only 2 tables for 2 remained) and we were lucky to get the table beside the fireplace, which was to our delight, lit. Oddly, we had our same server as our last visit and she was much more attentive this time. We presume she's obtained some experience now. We did however wait a little longer than expected to be initially served, but the rest of the visit went without delays. I had the Jerk Chicken Philly with the fries, and my wife had the 1 piece of fish & chips. Both were piping hot, particularly the fries. A noticeable improvement in the service, which included 4 servers, 2 bartenders and what appeared to be managers on the floor. Our meals were brought out by one of the managers, and I noticed both of them checking with patrons and asking how everything was. We're happy to see the 17 Mile back on track. [07 Jan 2007 01:59:50]

I stopped going to 17 mile a few years ago when I had one disappointing meal after another.
However, we had heard about changes and went back. We had a great meal, enjoyed the pub atmosphere. Very happy. It's nice to have another choice again. [05 Jun 2007 22:22:58]

Better then the others We frequent a lot of other pubs in the Victoria area. This one has some of the best food, with generous portions. [24 Jul 2007 15:56:48]

Cozy, warm atmosphere, friendly staff Went to a few different spots in Sooke on a visit from U.S. with my wife, and found the 17 mile pub to have the friendliest staff in the area. Food was a little slow but it was very busy. When I saw how small the kitchen was I understood why we had to wait 25 minutes for our food. It was worth the wait. I had the pasta special of the night(seafood fettucinni) and my wife had lasagna. Both were great. The lasagna was too big for my wife to finish so she brought the leftovers home to our B&B. Very reasonable prices, and they played great music! We will return for sure on our next visit. [17 Oct 2007 06:24:55]
