Good Food and Company The food and the service was great. I'm hoping to have my birthday there this coming week. [06 Aug 2003 13:14:03]

Good Food and Great View Ate here twice while in Summerland last week. A thoroughly enjoyable experience. [08 Sep 2003 18:31:16]

Amazing Spot The view across the lake to Naramata is wonderful -- you can really relax while gazing out the windows. I had been to the pub a few weeks back and thought it was really solid. Standard pub burger and fries, with a good selection of microbrewery offerings, including Naramata Nut Brown from the Cannery.
This week we were delighted to find out that we could bring our kids to the restaurant part -- we had thought that it was only a pub. Burger/fries and a beer for $6.95 on Tuesdays in March! We're sold! [04 Mar 2004 12:07:34]

Great Setting, Food Can be Variable Twice in the last month I've been able to go back to the 'Cove to try them out again, after their re-opening. The setting really steals the show, and makes up for a lot of potential shortcomings.
The meals I've had so far have ranged from quite nice to not enjoyable. I've not had good luck ordering items from the fryer -- they tend to be soggy and reminiscent of stale oil. The burgers and Asian specialties are usually good. The beer list is not inspired, but there are a few standouts on the list (Naramata Nut Brown Ale, for one).
It's hard not to compare this incarnation to the Shaugnessy's Cove of years ago. It's not just distance in time that makes the old 'Cove seem better, I think.
But will I go back? For sure. [07 Jul 2004 19:32:38]
