Trails Very Own Pasta House.
The Colander's food can be referred to as delicious with a capital D - go there and try it yourself.    [18 Feb 2004 02:45:10]

addicting flavor
I like the Colander and find that I am craving it from time to time but the grease always makes me feel sick afterwards. Don't get me wrong, it tastes great but the effects after ... eck! I heard it is cooked in chicken fat, I never knew it would give so much flavor.    [23 Jul 2004 19:06:30]

Best Spaghetti
Definitely the most scrumptious spaghetti ever...couldn't eat it every day (not a weight watchers meal), but very good!    [23 Nov 2004 17:39:57]

Meatballs...mmm
The food is extremely delicious! And, to mention the people who work there are the most friendliest of people! They treat you like family, and give you nothing but the best! A straight-up 5 star restaurant, with the feeling of home all in one package...This is simply the best restaurant to have family dinners, kid parites, work related meetings, or just to drop in and have an afterwork brew!!!!    [27 Jan 2005 23:29:35]

LOVE THE COLANDER
Oh my gosh! This is the best Spaghetti and Meatballs you will EVER have! Fresh steaming pasta, topped with a slowly simmered, homemade sauce and the most delicious meatballs - you just have to try them! Every time we are in Trail...we MUST have Colander spaghetti - ALWAYS!    [20 Jun 2005 13:01:26]

Not recommended
This is not a restaurant I would recommend. I've had need to eat there several times for business reasons. The food is very poor. I'm not quite sure why so many people like it except that they use a large amount of chicken fat in the cooking process. The spaghetti is bland. The chicken is overdone. I have yet to be waited on in a reasonable amount of time, and have had to get up and order my own drinks every time, except for one banquet event I attended. The lighting is extremely poor so it is hard to see what you are eating. The table layout leaves you feeling like you are eating in a greasy spoon restaurant. Need I say more?    [08 Aug 2006 17:43:18]

Gotta have the recipe
I grew up with the Colander and I turned 44 this year..........we would go on special occasions and whenever I return back to Castlegar I have to get out there and pick up take out. I introduced it to my kids and husband at the time but they just didn't have the love for it.......so I tossed the husband, kept the kids and still get the special whenever I get home. I love it and wish they would release the recipe to me one day.    [15 Sep 2006 16:20:47]
