Off Night Amerigo seemed to be having a bit of an off night when we were there recently. His pasta dishes are a little on the pricy side ($13, $14 and over), which raises my level of expectation. The meal we got was okay, but not convincing. A bit too much oil, a bit too much out of the can, perhaps.
Since moving across the street, Amerigo's Nuraghe restaurant has become even simpler in decor, and the atmosphere is now one of plain Italian / Canadian eatery, crossed with aging American diner. Perhaps a little attention paid to detail here would do much to enhance the ambiance.
On a side note, the wine list here needs a lot of help. Local wine selection is quite poor, and there are no local wines available by the glass at all.
At the end of the evening Amerigo came out, looking a little haggard. Maybe it just hadn't been his day. [13 Sep 2002 04:29:36]

A meal to remember!! I just can't say enough. Since moving to Kelowna two and a half years ago, I had heard about this restaurant. I finally took my wife and parents there this past Saturday. It was better than I could have hoped for.
All of our dishes were hot and fresh and delicious to the end. The atmosphere was delightful with a cozy feel to it complete with tenor music playing at a perfect volume.
The service was excellent and the chef himself came out to see how our experience was.
I did not check the wine list so I cannot comment on that.
Overall, this was the best dining experience we've had in the Kelowna area. Price is 12 - 15 dollars for pasta and chicken dishes and 17 dollars and up for steak. Compared to many others that are in this same price range, Amerigo's stands alone at the top.
The atmosphere is relaxing and free of the noise that pervades so many other places. In my opinion, this is the perfect place for a romantic dinner or a group of friends to enjoy. [20 Jan 2004 04:37:27]
