Amazing Seafood Alfredo My husband and I decided to go try this restaurant after coming off the Cabot trail. Since I'm a great lover of pasta, I decided to try the seafood Alfredo while my husband tried a maple salmon dish. The food was amazing; I have eaten pasta all over the province and the seafood Alfredo was by far the best I have ever eaten.
The view was beautiful, which added to the meal. My husband had nothing but wonderful reviews of his meal as well, he loved the salmon, it too was to die for. We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience! All I can say is, "Wonderful, wonderful chef! Wonderful food!" I highly recommend eating here, especially the pasta. [02 Aug 2003 00:33:51]

Amazing View, Great Staff We stumbled across this restaurant as we finished the Cabot Trail. They have a large smoke-free dining room with an unbelievable view of the ocean. You have to see it to believe how amazing it is. Besides the lovely setting, the staff were fantastic. Extremely knowledgeable about the local area. This restaurant besides having the freshest lobster out of their huge live lobster pound also has a full menu. The chowder is the best we had on our trip. Be sure to stop by this gem of an establishment. [18 Jan 2004 18:16:02]

Terrific Food All I can say about this lovely restaurant is "beautiful view, great food!" As a matter of fact we stumbled upon it just by accident. My boyfriend and I were visiting the island from Ontario when we were in search of a place to stop for dinner.
We started our meal with a huge bowl of mussels, which were covered in the most amazing tomato sauce. Then we decided on the mushrooms stuffed with seafood. These were even better. We have tried stuffed mushrooms in every restaurant that ever served them, we thought we had the tastiest ones in a little bistro in Ontario that we frequent a lot, but I have to say these were even better! And trust me, I thought that was impossible.
As if these two items were not filling enough we tried a bowl of seafood chowder. This was the most delicious chowder I have ever eaten in this lifetime.
We then tried deciding on our dinner selection. I tried a beautiful seafood Alfredo while my boyfriend decided on one with linguini, we argued over which one was better, as they both were amazing.
All I can say was this was our best meal while visiting Cape Breton; we will definitely be back here if we visit again. Highly recommend anyone eat here, you will not be let down. :) [08 Sep 2004 23:51:43]

Best Chowder Without A Doubt I was visiting this lovely island with my family in August. We went on a beautiful drive around the Cabot trail, to live there must be a spendid treat. We stopped at this restaurant on our way back to sydney, my children of course were so hungry they just had to eat. Well I'm so very happy that we made the stop. I started my meal with a bowl of what was described as famous seafood chowder. It was the best I had ever eaten, the chuncks of seafood was a meal in itself. My husband tried some of mine and he ordered himself a bowl right away! It was creamy and had the most wonderful taste! I wanted to take the chef home!! I think it is worth visiting just for the chowder. My children had burgers, which were described as children's size burgers, but they were so big even my husband would be lucky to finish one! they said they were, as they described them wicked. The lovely waitress recommended a pasta dish she said I would be very happy with it. It was amazing to say the least. It had lobster shrimp and scallops with a basil sauce and was served with garlic bread, there was so much of it I couldnt finish! It was heaven in a bowl!! My husband of course wanted to try something different so he had a halibut dinner. It was cooked perfect, and he's a fusy eater! Hats of to this restaurant, I will be back when I visit again. the food is amazing the view was great and the service was enjoyable. [13 Dec 2006 15:43:03]

Worst Meal I've Had in Years My family just returned from a beautiful trip to Cape Breton yesterday. We waited until the last night to go out for a special meal, I wish we would have stepped on the gas and passed this one by. What an awful experience. Careful folks..all you are paying for is the view. The food was terrible...none of us had lobster, but how bad can you screw up boiling a lobster anyway? I had the veggie cous cous and roasted veg - tasteless and cold. Another had the fish and chips $10.95 for frozen store brand fries - undercooked at that, and 2 miniscule pieces of fish. Two had the "catch of the day" - whitefish (server not sure what kind) and roasted red pepper sauce (tasted of bottled peppers wizzed up with sour cream), absolutely no flavor again. When I asked server why baked potatoes were so squishy and wet she said they were steamed. Why not say that on the menu then?
The server never returned until the end of the meal and even then she looked as if she really didn't want to ask us how it was because she knew how bad it really was. By the way, the lobster is very overpriced (as is everything). Go up the highway about 15km and you can get the same for about $10 less per person. Stay away from this place! [01 Sep 2007 12:51:30]
