Slice of life The Bluenose II is like the family-friendly version of the Midtown. Everyone from business people to your average joe ends up eating here from time to time.
The food is good homestyle fare with lots of Greek offerings and it's cheap, the service is efficient and friendly and you're usually in and out in 45 minutes. However, parking is murder if you have a car with you, and you have to be mindful of the peak times because this place can get packed.
The atmosphere is retro diner and can be noisy at lunchtime. The booths are homemade so some of them have a "short" side, which can lead to some funny situations for tall people. [24 Nov 2004 23:38:29]

Had coconut cream pie there one day many years ago. I can still taste it. To die for!!! It was so good, that I even remembered the name of the restaurant. [28 Aug 2005 19:11:44]

Very Good Diner-Type Restaurant I was just at the Bluenose II a few weeks ago. First time. Being that our hotel didn't have a complimentary breakfast and we didn't know the area well, we went in. The service was quick, the breakfast was terrific and not only the usual stuff - I had fish cakes and eggs, it came with toast and potatoes and was just great. Hubby had his usual big breakfast and was very happy - even with the bacon. Son had his usual bagel with cream cheese - he likes it a certain way - just warmed and they did it perfectly. Coffee was good, prices were decent and service was good.
Very good breakfast. I can imagine what their lunch and dinner are like. [26 Jul 2006 22:23:39]

Bad Service, Long Wait Time. Very slow service. 45 minutes for scrambled eggs. Muffin for our kid was not fresh and heated in the microwave. It was hard as a rock. Manger/co owner was arrogant. Busy place, but we had a terrible experience. Never again! [04 Sep 2006 20:36:33]

The Best Food in Town My family and I are regular patrons of the Bluenose living only a few blocks away. We order take out at least twice a week and in over two years have never had a bad experience. I would highly recommend the Bluenose II, it is a great eatery with reasonable prices and fantastic food.
Keep up the great work! [08 Jan 2007 17:08:24]
