Great place for live music, but eat elsewhere. Dark enough that it was hard to see our food although we were the only people present. The waiter didn't seem to understand our requests for a change in music (2 hours of Tom Waits was followed by Tom Waits cover tunes).    [01 Sep 2003 19:19:59]

Stoney says Great!
The best Mexican chicken north of Vegas, and always cold beers on ice for us. We loved it; Peanut Bar is a must these days to keep one's sanity.

Great Selection, Food and Service
This restaurant offers a variety which to the best of my knowledge is unmatched in Sydney. While it may take a little longer to get the food once ordered, it's well worth the wait.

We knew we were off to a good start when the nachos arrived fresh. That is, they weren't taken pre-made from some store-bought bag and broiled with toppings, they were cooked fresh, *then* the toppings were added. The difference it made made all the difference.

The main courses followed with generous portions and were hot and also fresh. The difficulty was deciding what to order. Our excellent server did not give us the usual "oh-everything's-good-here" routine but rather gave direct honest advice in helping us choose which is a welcome change from the norm.

Prices were more than reasonable considering the quality. Dinner for the 2 of us set us back only 60. quid, taxes in, for appetizer, main and desserts along with our pints.

If the "honest class" atmosphere is not to your liking, then try the restaurant below with the same great menu but a bit more formal surroundings.

Highly recommended.    [04 Jul 2004 15:51:32]
