The coffee is wonderful with many delicate notes, the ambience is perfect, and the service perfect. An A1 cafe and the best in Yellowknife. [25 Jun 2005 20:40:51]

hmmm.... Best in Yellowknife? It is the ONLY true coffee shop in Yellowknife, so by default the best. But is that good? It isn't bad, however, if you want good coffee, you have to go south. [24 Jul 2005 11:05:42]

Decent, but no Second Cup Like previously stated, Javorama's pretty much the only game in town. It's good, but not great, but not really bad, either. It tries to be a big city coffee shop, but the coffee is more-than-often bitter (not in the good sense), but their cheap and delicious bagels and variety of sandwiches and desserts more than makes up for, er, their lake of decent coffee. Over Roasted Beans I have been going to Javaroma since it opened the doors almost every day. I have to say however the coffee more often than not has a burnt bean taste regardless of the type of coffee I choose. Lately it has been an overhelming burnt and bitter taste and smell to the coffee. A friend just brought me in a cup and I have thrown it out due to the nasty taste. I really is too bad as it is a wonderful spot, handy, clean with a delightful ambiance. Please please folks get a handle on the over roasting! [19 Jan 2006 12:31:18]

Knowledge and Training! From a first look, the core for quality coffee/espresso is there. But unfortunately like so many place in the country there is a lack of proper education and training. I don't understand advertizing fresh roasted coffees, buy only what you need for a week or 2 max. And all that care to have fresh roasted coffees on the shelf and for the shop is totally wasted by untrained staff. Here's my experience today. Ordered a Cappa. Doser full of grounds that's a bad start, then didn't flush the grouphead, didn't clean the portafilter and the shot was waaaaayyyy to short barely 10sec. On top of that the milk was overheated (scalded). Bad tasting shot with really bad tasting milk... I didn't finish my drink. Overall the place has all the potential: fresh roasted coffees (yeah some could gain by being roasted lighter), nice spot, good setup (espresso machine need maintenance) [13 Apr 2007 00:33:40]
