Hearty German Fare You'll Remember
It has been a while since I've eaten there, but I know Rudy still does things the same way. He creates a broad selection of favourite German dishes, and is known far and wide for a few of them including his cooked potato salad and spaetzle. I've had a lot of his food and loved much of it.

The mixed platter is the best place to start, and you won't believe how much food is on it! (breaded butterflied chicken breast, schnitzel, sauerkraut/blue cabbage, bratwurst, cabbage roll, baked potato, bacon, fries -- and there may be more.

Other notable dishes are his Sauerbraten, goulash (I'm almost drooling as I list these dishes) cabbage rolls, and he has among the best fries (top 5 for sure) I've ever had.

The ambiance is surprising since from the outside it looks like it's just tacked onto the motel, but it's like stepping into an old German Hof as you enter the door, and is complete with a roaring fireplace (on cold days) and a view of the St. Lawrence river, and friendly local service.

If you are ever in the Ingleside area or live there and have never checked it out, I really recommend it. It is the benchmark for hearty German fare for me so far.    [06 Nov 2002 17:32:11]

Very Good Restaurant
Rudy Hahn is always ready and nice. I go once a year to Rudy and have lunch with my wife and bring along a friend. We are always satisfied with his service and the food is like in Germany.    [19 Aug 2003 03:07:27]
