Lousy Service, Forgotten Items and Rude Management
We went into the restaurant to order the items we wanted, and paid the hostess the rather exorbitant price of 45.19 for an order of steamed rice, shrimp in lobster sauce, General Tao chicken, chicken balls and Cantonese chow mein (at approximately 9 bucks a dish I thought that this food better be damned great). We were told it would be a ten minute wait - after 20 minutes they brought out the food in a bag and we left.

When we got home, they had forgotten to put one of our dishes in the bag. I promptly called them, tried to explain the situation to the lady on the phone, and after asking me 4 times to list what we had ordered, and what we had gotten, she then said that they would deliver the missing food in about 40 minutes. I thought the whole point of picking up the food was to save time but boy was I wrong.

The manager then came on the phone, asked very condescendingly what my problem was - I explained it again about 3 times before he said that he would have someone bring the missing food as soon as they had time (What?!). I told him that I had already paid for the food, and he should get in his car and drive it to us right now. He then called me a few not so pleasant names, accused me of lying to him because "in all his years he has never had this problem with any customer".

I lost my patience, told him to have the food delivered in ten minutes or else...I hung up. He called back, then said said that I was a rude bitch, that he would call the police for me, and that he was not delivering anything because I had to bring the food back to prove that I did not get the item I had paid for. I promised him that I would be there with bells on in ten minutes.

We drove there, pulled out the food and showed him that I was not lying as he had accused - I demanded my money back because we had all lost our appetites at this point, and god knows what they would have put in our missing dish so we were definitely not going to eat their food. I asked for my money back, he refused, dared me to call the police, and said that I could write it any paper I wanted to because he did not care, that I was a stupid *&$#!woman and he was not giving me anything, that he was going to call the police.

We eventually convinced one of the staff to refund us our money while he was busy screaming at another person in our party, and then he yelled at the poor woman who refunded our money saying that I should not get my money back because I was a stupid *&$#! woman. What a dump, and what an ass the manager is!

Any other restaurant that had a concept of service would have apologised for the mistake - he chose to scream at me, call me names, threaten me with the police, refuse to give me my money back. Never eat here - you will be treated like dirt.    [24 Nov 2005 22:37:07]
