Best Indian Restaurant in Canada This is one of my favourite restaurants in all of Canada, perhaps the world. I have been to the Taj Mahal many times and have always enjoyed the experience. Owners Nitu and Rano Vasani have received many accolades from food critics and customers over the years, all of them well-deserved.
The restaurant is located on Broadway Avenue, Saskatoon's trendy commercial district. It consists of one main dining room, with a walled-off private room by the windows at the front. The decor is fairly conservative, with some Indian artwork adorning the walls.
The food is, of course, the main attraction. You can tell that they do not cut corners; everything is made from scratch. Rano is the main chef and the quality of her cooking is top notch. You can also specify the heat factor of your dishes (mild, medium and hot).
Like many Asian restaurants, the best way to have your meal is to order several items for your group and then share. Each item comes in its own serving dish, so you can take a portion for yourself.
The service is prompt and very friendly. I especially like it when Nitu is there, as he has a story for every item on the menu.
If you want to have a truly special dining experience, you are guaranteed to have one here. I always look forward to my next visit. It is the best Indian restaurant - and arguably the best restaurant of any kind - in all of Canada. [01 May 2005 19:35:28]

The food is absolutely incredible. However I found the prices to be extrodinarily high and the portions to be disgustingly small. [18 Aug 2005 01:05:36]

This is phenomonal restaurant. I have eaten at easily 250+ Indian restaurants in both US and Canada (mostly Ottawa/Vancouver in Canada) and this is the best. Period. After waiting an hour for samosa, I was getting a little impatient, one bite and I knew, yet, when I complimented the waiter he said "you haven't seen anything yet." and he was right. Really really awesome. [16 Jul 2007 22:03:51]
