Beautiful setting and atmosphere set right on the U of S campus. The outside of the restaurant is beautifully landscaped and the inside is filled with oak and windows that creates a very serene atmosphere. I was at Boffins for lunch on Monday. Normally, I wouldn't order something as heavy as beer-battered walleye for lunch but it sounded so good, I couldn't resist. I was pleasantly surprised that it tasted so light, crispy, and nongreasy. The soup of the day ( a chardonnay salmon cream soup) was also incredible. I have been to Boffins on several ocassions for wedding receptions and the service and food have always been exceptional. This restaurant is definitely one of Saskatoon's best-kept secrets. My only complaint about Boffins is that it is only open to U of S faculty members/employees and other employees that work in Innovation Place. Therefore, I always have to get a friend to take me there for lunch. If it was open to the general public, then I would definitely be a regular customer. [30 Oct 2003 23:21:48]
