Best Lunch in a Coffeehaus The Claim has the best atmosphere of the four main coffeehouses in Whitehorse, YT. They have given a lot of space to seating, and their room is a high-ceiling, inviting room with round tables--easily placed together or left apart for groups of 3 or four. Richly colored walls--with room for art exhibits-- make this the perfect atmosphere for conducting an informal business meeting over lattes, or meeting friends.
The Claim is known for its chocolate and desserts, but it also features incredible soups, gourmet pizza, quiche, and other entrees of the day. They have a wide selection of cookies, brownies, cakes, and other sweets for those who are seeking something light that goes well with coffee.
They serve Bean North coffee, roasted in Whitehorse. They make the best mochas in town. Great service, the front is manned by two or three people at a time, which ensures a quick order no matter how long the line looks.
If you think about the places in Whitehorse for coffee, they all have their specialties and the group they cater too. Granolas favor Zola's Midnight Sun and the quirky, tiny atmosphere of this coffee roaster; the Backerai features pastries and large bowls of soup, but can be expensive; the Java Connection has good sandwiches but they lack any atmosphere. Chocolate Claim has good prices, good selection, and a great atmosphere.
They also cater--meaning that you can bring the Claim anywhere you want. [25 Nov 2003 14:40:07]
