Good Menu, Gorgeous Setting I've been to the Wharf twice and had a very nice experience both times. The wait staff are nearly always from Austria, but they speak English impeccably. The menu boasts some creative dishes (pistachio encrusted sea bass) as well as traditional fancy sea fare such as a typical surf and turf combo, or a grilled/island/jerk preparation of the catch of the day. The special board, which you will pass on your way in, always contains some eye-catching additions to the menu and covers every part of the meal, including a special dessert and drink.
The food is excellent, but the best reason to come to the Wharf is the setting; if it's a nice night, call ahead for sunset reservations. You will find yourself seated right on the water sipping a cocktail and listening to live music as the sun goes down right before your eyes. The outdoor bar is situated on the same level as the outside dining area, right on the water, and they put out a few free appetizers (typically bar fare such as chicken wings, conch fritters, and veggies) during happy hour, which is a great reason to get there a bit early. The restaurant and surrounding grounds are quite elegant to look upon, with many trellises and a couple of gazebos landscaped into the surrounding deck. A small gift shop and the tarpon feeding round off the attraction. There's a feeding frenzy once or twice per evening as they throw scraps into the water and the 1.5-meter monsters thrash about.
There are only two detracting factors worth mentioning here. The first is the slightly high prices; on an island where everything is already pricey by nature, this is quite an expensive restaurant. The only other negative aspect I can mention is anecdotal and involves our experience with the supporting wait staff; on two occasions, the water-bearer left in the middle of watering our table, carrying a pitcher that was not empty, and she did not return to finish the rest of the table. Other than that minor annoyance which is probably not typical, I can definitely recommend this restaurant, if you can rationalize that money is not an object since you're probably on vacation anyway.
