Spring Deer - Always a Favorite
Spring Deer is one of my favorite restaurants in Hong Kong, as it is for most Filipinos who travel to HK.

Their outstanding dishes, as far as I'm concerned, are their Peking Duck, the Sizzling Chili Prawns, the Crispy Shredded Beef with Buns and their Tian Jin Cabbage with Yunnan Ham, selection which I never fail to order when dining there.
The place is always packed, especially on weekends, so reservations are recommended.

The best thing about this restaurant is that their prices are quite affordable for such excellent quality dishes.    [26 Apr 2004 01:18:41]

Great Golden Oldie
It's a golden oldie for me and my family. Been eating here since the early 80's. Everything is still the same and it's always tough to find it.

But it's a truly reasonable restaurant and they serve everything, all of it authentic. Abalone, birdsnest, sharksfin...

You can see by how busy it is, how good the restaurant actually is.    [08 Feb 2005 14:03:40]

This restaurant is getting old and it never improves. Very ordinary Pekingese cuisine. There are lots of better choices as far as Northern Chinese food is concerned.    [02 Apr 2006 09:29:26]

Recipe for Spring Deer Shredded Beef
This is my absolute favourite dish and I haven't been able to find the same crispiness at any other Chinese restaurant anywhere in the world. I have written asking for their recipe, but have never received a response. Anyone know the secret?    [05 Nov 2006 15:04:38]

Can't Leave HK without eating at Spring Deer!
I've been a great spring deer fan since my training days in HK in early 80's. Until today, every time I get to fly to HK, I always make sure I don't leave without having my favorite spring deer and shredded beef in buns. Price wise, they are one of the most reasonably priced restaurants with great food.    [28 Oct 2007 19:11:40]
