Wonderful
We loved the outdoor atmosphere, the service was gentle and the food was great. So good, I am trying to get a copy of the cookbook. I had no time to get it as I was leaving Rarotonga.

We highly recommend the Flame Tree to anyone visiting The Cook Isolands.

Consistently good dining
This is certainly a restuarant worth dining at. The meals are of a consistently good quality, and the service is always excellent. The fish dishes are some of the best available anywhere.    [27 Apr 2003 08:08:43]

Disappointingly it has gone downhill in the last 2 years. Had a fantastic meal there previously. Had a poor meal there in Sept 2003 - had to send the mussels back - they were stone cold. Shame because the ambience is great    [20 Jan 2004 14:22:52]

Gone Downhill
I've eaten at The Flame Tree many times throughout the last seven years...four visits to Raro...Sue Caruthers made it famous! (She now owns the new Tamarind House which is fabulous!) They are riding on her laurels and the food is definately not as good as in the past. The ambiance, however, is still wonderful.    [14 Apr 2005 14:47:04]
